date +%s
Returns 1700021943, now more than 1.7 billion seconds since the Beginning of the Epoch, or January 1st, 1970.
If you use 32 bit integers, then this will overflow in the year 2038. This is kinda like Y2K. This blog is powered by SQLite, which pledges support until 2050. SQLite has 64-bit integers so they won't have this problem.
